US Sales Tax Invoice Generator

The United States has no national sales tax — it has fifty state regimes, five states with none at all, and thousands of local additions stacked on top. Xuvilo's US mode gives you state base-rate presets for every state and DC, prints a proper Sales Tax line at the combined rate you actually charge, and handles tax-exempt resale transactions with the certificate note your buyer's records need.

What the US mode gets right

Which rate goes on the invoice?

The combined rate at the point the sale is sourced to: the state's base rate plus county, city and special-district additions. Most states source remote sales to the delivery address (destination sourcing); a minority use origin sourcing for in-state sales. The preset gives you the state base rate as an honest starting point — local additions vary too much for any generic tool to promise an exact combined figure, so the rate stays editable and the invoice prints exactly what you charge.

Selling into the US from abroad?

Foreign sellers collect US sales tax only where they have nexus — typically economic nexus once sales into a state cross its threshold (commonly $100,000 a year). Until then, you invoice without US tax. When you do cross a threshold, register with that state, then switch the invoice to the destination state's combined rate.
