US invoices are commonly paid by ACH bank transfer, credit card, or — uniquely among major economies — paper checks, which still circulate widely in B2B trade. Net 30 is the standard term, with Net 15 for freelancers and Net 60 pushed by larger enterprises; early-payment discounts written as "2/10 Net 30" remain a recognised convention. There is no federal invoice format requirement, but businesses collect a W-9 form from US contractors so they can issue a 1099-NEC at year end for payments over $600. Sales tax, where applicable, is added as a separate line based on the buyer's state and local rates.
Step 1. Open the United States invoice generator. Currency and tax are pre-loaded for you. Fill in your business details and logo; signed in, the company profile you save under Settings fills them in for you.
Step 2. Add your customer and your line items. Quantity, unit price and tax update the totals automatically. Switch language between Arabic & English as needed; Xuvilo flips the layout to RTL or LTR for you.
Step 3. Click "Download PDF". Your United States invoice is generated as a print-ready A4 file in USD, ready to email to the client or attach to your accounting system.
United States has no VAT, so Xuvilo defaults the tax rate to zero on the United States invoice. If a sale is subject to another tax (for example a sales tax, or a regional or municipal levy), you can set the tax rate per line at any time.
The tax authority responsible for United States is Internal Revenue Service (IRS) federally, plus state departments of revenue for sales tax. The US has no VAT; instead, each state sets sales-tax rules, and since the Wayfair decision most states impose economic nexus at around $100,000 in annual sales into the state (thresholds vary — verify with the state's department of revenue).
The United States has no federal e-invoicing mandate and no VAT-style clearance system — businesses may issue invoices in any format, including plain PDF. Industry adoption is voluntary and driven by efficiency: the Business Payments Coalition and the Federal Reserve have piloted a Digital Business Networks Alliance (DBNAlliance) exchange framework modelled loosely on Peppol, but participation remains optional. Verify any sector-specific requirements (for example, government contracting portals) with the relevant agency.
Xuvilo isn't only an invoice generator. The same business profile powers a free quotation generator for sending price quotes before a deal is signed, a free receipt generator for confirming payments after they're made, and a 859 template library for industry-specific designs. Most United States businesses go through quote → invoice → receipt for every project, and Xuvilo covers all three.
There is no federal VAT or GST in the United States. Sales tax applies only if you have nexus in the buyer's state and the product or service is taxable there — most B2B professional services are exempt in many states. When sales tax applies, it is shown as a separate line using the combined state and local rate.
No. There is no federal or state mandate for structured e-invoices, and a PDF sent by email is legally sufficient. Voluntary exchange networks like the DBNAlliance exist, but adoption is market-driven rather than regulatory.
Invoice in USD — American companies overwhelmingly expect dollar-denominated invoices — and provide ACH or wire details, or use a payment platform that gives you US banking coordinates. Non-US contractors are typically asked to complete a W-8BEN form instead of a W-9 to document their foreign status.
US businesses report payments of $600 or more to unincorporated contractors on IRS form 1099-NEC. Your invoices should carry consistent legal names and addresses matching your W-9 or W-8BEN so the client's year-end reporting reconciles cleanly with your records.

Yes. Switch Xuvilo between Arabic (right to left) and English (left to right) at any time; each document prints in one language: Arabic when you are using Xuvilo in Arabic or have chosen an Arabic template, English otherwise; and every field accepts text in either language.
