Turkish invoices (fatura) must be issued within seven days of delivery of goods or services, a deadline accountants enforce strictly. Domestic payments run over FAST (instant, 24/7), EFT during banking hours, or havale between accounts at the same bank, and cheque and promissory-note (senet) payments remain common in traditional trade. Because of high inflation, contracts are often priced in USD or EUR, but domestic invoices are generally issued in TRY with the exchange rate noted, in line with the 2018 decree restricting FX-denominated domestic contracts. Invoices show the supplier's vergi numarası (tax number) and tax office (vergi dairesi), and certain services apply tevkifat — split VAT withholding where the buyer remits part of the KDV directly.
Step 1. Open the Turkey invoice generator. Currency and tax are pre-loaded for you. Fill in your business details and logo; signed in, the company profile you save under Settings fills them in for you.
Step 2. Add your customer and your line items. Quantity, unit price and tax update the totals automatically. Switch language between Arabic & English as needed; Xuvilo flips the layout to RTL or LTR for you.
Step 3. Click "Download PDF". Your Turkey invoice is generated as a print-ready A4 file in TRY, ready to email to the client or attach to your accounting system.
Turkey applies 20% KDV on most invoiced goods and services, so Xuvilo defaults the tax rate to 20% KDV on the Turkey invoice. You can override the rate per line, exclude exempt items, or add multiple tax components if your business requires it.
The tax authority responsible for Turkey is Gelir İdaresi Başkanlığı (GİB, Turkish Revenue Administration). Turkey has no VAT registration threshold — any business making taxable supplies must register for KDV from the outset; verify specifics with the GİB.
Turkey operates one of the world's oldest clearance-style e-invoicing systems: businesses above a gross sales threshold (TRY 3 million, with lower thresholds for e-commerce and certain sectors) must use e-Fatura for invoices to other registered users and e-Arşiv Fatura for everyone else, both in the UBL-TR format cleared through the GİB. Even non-mandated businesses must issue e-Arşiv invoices via the GİB portal for invoices above a per-document amount. Thresholds are revised frequently in line with inflation, so verify current limits with the GİB.
Xuvilo isn't only an invoice generator. The same business profile powers a free quotation generator for sending price quotes before a deal is signed, a free receipt generator for confirming payments after they're made, and a 859 template library for industry-specific designs. Most Turkey businesses go through quote → invoice → receipt for every project, and Xuvilo covers all three.
The standard KDV (VAT) rate is 20% since July 2023, with reduced rates of 10% and 1% for specific goods and services. Some sectors apply tevkifat, where the buyer withholds a designated fraction of the KDV and pays it to the tax office directly, and the invoice must show this split.
Businesses exceeding the GİB's gross sales threshold (TRY 3 million, lower for e-commerce sellers) must register for e-Fatura and issue e-Arşiv invoices to non-registered recipients. Smaller businesses still must use the GİB's portal for individual invoices above the per-invoice e-Arşiv limit. Thresholds change often, so check the GİB's current communiqués.
Export invoices are freely issued in USD or EUR, but domestic contracts and invoices are generally required to be in Turkish lira under the FX-restriction decree, with limited exceptions. Where an FX price is permitted, the TRY equivalent and exchange rate are shown on the fatura.
Within seven days of the supply of goods or completion of services — issuing later exposes you to special irregularity fines. This is why Turkish bookkeepers insist on same-week invoicing, and why month-end batches of faturas are standard rhythm for Turkish SMEs.
