Swiss invoices are settled by bank transfer through the SIC system, initiated by scanning the invoice's QR-bill in e-banking — the QR code encodes the account (QR-IBAN), amount, and a structured reference that automates reconciliation. Payment within 30 days ('zahlbar innert 30 Tagen') is the near-universal custom, and Swiss payment discipline is comparatively strong. Invoices state the supplier's UID enterprise number (format CHE-123.456.789, with VAT suffix if registered) and are written in the client's language region — German, French or Italian — with amounts in CHF traditionally rounded to 0.05 for cash. TWINT covers consumer micro-payments but B2B stays firmly on QR-bill transfers.
Step 1. Open the Switzerland invoice generator. Currency and tax are pre-loaded for you. Fill in your business details and logo; signed in, the company profile you save under Settings fills them in for you.
Step 2. Add your customer and your line items. Quantity, unit price and tax update the totals automatically. Switch language between Arabic & English as needed; Xuvilo flips the layout to RTL or LTR for you.
Step 3. Click "Download PDF". Your Switzerland invoice is generated as a print-ready A4 file in CHF, ready to email to the client or attach to your accounting system.
Switzerland applies 8.1% MWST on most invoiced goods and services, so Xuvilo defaults the tax rate to 8.1% MWST on the Switzerland invoice. You can override the rate per line, exclude exempt items, or add multiple tax components if your business requires it.
The tax authority responsible for Switzerland is Federal Tax Administration (FTA / ESTV) for VAT. VAT registration is required once worldwide turnover from taxable supplies reaches CHF 100,000 per year (CHF 250,000 for non-profits) — verify with the FTA.
Switzerland, outside the EU, has no general e-invoicing mandate: businesses invoice in any format, though suppliers to the federal administration must submit e-invoices for contracts above CHF 5,000. The dominant national innovation is the QR-bill (QR-Rechnung), which since October 2022 fully replaced the old orange and red payment slips — every Swiss invoice intended for bank payment carries a standardised Swiss QR code with payment details. Verify federal-supplier requirements with the Federal Finance Administration.
Xuvilo isn't only an invoice generator. The same business profile powers a free quotation generator for sending price quotes before a deal is signed, a free receipt generator for confirming payments after they're made, and a 859 template library for industry-specific designs. Most Switzerland businesses go through quote → invoice → receipt for every project, and Xuvilo covers all three.
Since January 2024 the standard MWST/TVA rate is 8.1%, with a 2.6% reduced rate for essentials and 3.8% for accommodation — low by European standards. Registered businesses show their UID number with the MWST suffix (for example CHE-123.456.789 MWST) and the tax per rate on each invoice.
No general mandate exists; only suppliers billing the federal government above CHF 5,000 per contract must e-invoice. In practice the standardised QR-bill has digitised Swiss payments anyway, since virtually every domestic invoice now carries the Swiss QR code for automated bank payment.
Yes — EUR invoicing is common near the borders and for international work, and QR-bills support both CHF and EUR. If Swiss VAT applies, the VAT data must be convertible to francs at FTA-approved rates for your return, and note that foreign companies serving Swiss customers may themselves become liable to register once global turnover passes CHF 100,000.
The QR-bill is Switzerland's standardised payment section — a Swiss QR code plus human-readable payment details — that replaced the old payment slips in 2022. Domestic clients expect it because their e-banking scans it directly; invoices without one require manual data entry and tend to be paid slower.

Yes. Switch Xuvilo between Arabic (right to left) and English (left to right) at any time; each document prints in one language: Arabic when you are using Xuvilo in Arabic or have chosen an Arabic template, English otherwise; and every field accepts text in either language.
