Senegal is the home market of Wave, the low-cost mobile money disruptor whose penguin logo is everywhere in Dakar, and Wave and Orange Money together handle a huge share of day-to-day business payments alongside bank transfers for the formal sector. The CFA franc's fixed peg to the euro (655.957 XOF per EUR) removes exchange risk on European invoicing, which matters given France's weight in Senegalese trade. Invoices are issued in French, and larger firms expect the supplier's NINEA (tax identification number) on every document. Payment terms in the formal sector run 30 to 60 days, while small trade settles instantly by mobile money or cash.
Step 1. Open the Senegal invoice generator. Currency and tax are pre-loaded for you. Fill in your business details and logo; signed in, the company profile you save under Settings fills them in for you.
Step 2. Add your customer and your line items. Quantity, unit price and tax update the totals automatically. Switch language between Arabic & English as needed; Xuvilo flips the layout to RTL or LTR for you.
Step 3. Click "Download PDF". Your Senegal invoice is generated as a print-ready A4 file in XOF, ready to email to the client or attach to your accounting system.
Senegal applies 18% TVA on most invoiced goods and services, so Xuvilo defaults the tax rate to 18% TVA on the Senegal invoice. You can override the rate per line, exclude exempt items, or add multiple tax components if your business requires it.
The tax authority responsible for Senegal is DGID (Direction générale des Impôts et des Domaines). Senegal has no separate VAT registration threshold as such — VAT obligations follow your tax regime, with small businesses under the CGU (Contribution Globale Unique) simplified regime, roughly below XOF 50 million turnover, falling outside VAT; verify your regime classification with the DGID.
Senegal is moving to mandatory electronic invoicing: the 2025 Finance Law introduced a legal framework requiring invoices to be issued electronically through a government-certified system, with phased implementation to follow. Until your phase is called up, conventional invoices remain valid, but the direction of travel is clear — verify the rollout calendar and technical requirements with the DGID.
Xuvilo isn't only an invoice generator. The same business profile powers a free quotation generator for sending price quotes before a deal is signed, a free receipt generator for confirming payments after they're made, and a 859 template library for industry-specific designs. Most Senegal businesses go through quote → invoice → receipt for every project, and Xuvilo covers all three.
The standard TVA rate is 18%, with a reduced 10% rate for tourism accommodation services. Businesses under the simplified CGU regime for small taxpayers do not charge TVA — your regime, not a simple turnover threshold, determines the obligation.
A mandate is arriving: the 2025 Finance Law established mandatory electronic invoicing through certified systems, to be implemented in phases. Check with the DGID which taxpayer categories are onboarded and when your business must comply.
The West African CFA franc is pegged to the euro at a fixed 655.957 rate through the BCEAO, so invoicing European clients carries no exchange-rate risk and conversion is mechanical. Within the eight-country UEMOA zone, invoices settle in XOF without any currency conversion at all.
Formal invoices should carry your NINEA (national business identification number) and RCCM trade register reference alongside the usual invoice details, all drafted in French. Corporate and government clients will reject invoices missing the NINEA, so include it as standard.
