The Malaysia invoice generator pre-loads the correct currency (MYR) and the local tax rate (8% SST), supports both Arabic & English with proper layout, runs entirely in your browser so your customer information stays on your device, and exports a clean A4 PDF you can email or print. Malaysia runs a Sales and Service Tax (SST) rather than a VAT: service providers charge 8% service tax (raised from 6% in March 2024, with some services still at 6%), while manufacturers and importers deal with sales tax at typically 10% — only registered businesses charge SST, and there is no input-credit mechanism like GST. Payments flow through DuitNow (instant transfers by ID or QR), FPX online banking for e-commerce, and conventional interbank GIRO. Invoices commonly show the supplier's SST registration number and business registration (SSM) number, and Net 30 terms are standard. Invoicing is in English or Bahasa Malaysia, in ringgit (RM).
Step 1. Open the Malaysia invoice generator. Currency and tax are pre-loaded for you. Fill in your business details and logo; signed in, the company profile you save under Settings fills them in for you.
Step 2. Add your customer and your line items. Quantity, unit price and tax update the totals automatically. Switch language between Arabic & English as needed; Xuvilo flips the layout to RTL or LTR for you.
Step 3. Click "Download PDF". Your Malaysia invoice is generated as a print-ready A4 file in MYR, ready to email to the client or attach to your accounting system.
Malaysia applies 8% SST on most invoiced goods and services, so Xuvilo defaults the tax rate to 8% SST on the Malaysia invoice. You can override the rate per line, exclude exempt items, or add multiple tax components if your business requires it.
The tax authority responsible for Malaysia is Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN / Inland Revenue Board) for e-invoicing and income tax; Royal Malaysian Customs Department for SST. SST registration is generally required once taxable turnover exceeds RM 500,000 in 12 months (RM 1.5 million for restaurants) — verify your service category with Royal Malaysian Customs.
Malaysia is implementing mandatory e-invoicing through the LHDN's MyInvois system: invoices are validated in near real time and receive a unique identifier and QR code. The rollout began in August 2024 for businesses with turnover above RM 100 million and extends in phases to progressively smaller businesses through 2025 and 2026, with the smallest micro-enterprises given later deadlines and interim relaxations — verify your phase with the LHDN. Validated e-invoices can be submitted via API or the free MyInvois portal.
Xuvilo isn't only an invoice generator. The same business profile powers a free quotation generator for sending price quotes before a deal is signed, a free receipt generator for confirming payments after they're made, and a 859 template library for industry-specific designs. Most Malaysia businesses go through quote → invoice → receipt for every project, and Xuvilo covers all three.
Malaysia abolished GST in 2018 and uses SST: registered service providers charge service tax at 8% (6% for some categories like food and beverage), and registered manufacturers charge sales tax at around 10%. If you are not SST-registered, you issue invoices without tax.
It depends on your annual turnover: the largest businesses started in August 2024, and successive phases pull in smaller companies through 2025 and 2026, with micro-businesses last. Each validated invoice gets an LHDN identifier and QR code — check your exact mandate date on the LHDN's e-invoice portal.
Exported services are generally outside the scope of service tax, so invoices to foreign clients are typically issued without SST, in USD or the client's currency. Under the e-invoice regime, cross-border transactions are still reported to MyInvois, often via self-billed or consolidated e-invoices — confirm the treatment for your scenario with the LHDN.
DuitNow transfers — instant and addressable by phone number, business registration number or QR code — have become the default for SME invoices, alongside FPX for online payments and GIRO for scheduled corporate runs. Printing a DuitNow QR on your invoice noticeably speeds up settlement from local clients.
