Italian invoices route through SdI using the recipient's 7-character codice destinatario or certified PEC email address, and businesses check receipt outcomes (ricevute) rather than asking if the invoice arrived. Payments are made by SEPA transfer or the traditional Ri.Ba. bank collection system still used in Italian commerce, with 30-60 day terms and end-of-month conventions (for example "60 gg d.f.f.m." — 60 days end-of-month) deeply entrenched. Invoices exempt from IVA above EUR 77.47 require a EUR 2 virtual stamp duty (imposta di bollo), settled quarterly through the Agenzia's portal. Every invoice shows the supplier's partita IVA and often the client's codice fiscale.
Step 1. Open the Italy invoice generator. Currency and tax are pre-loaded for you. Fill in your business details and logo; signed in, the company profile you save under Settings fills them in for you.
Step 2. Add your customer and your line items. Quantity, unit price and tax update the totals automatically. Switch language between Arabic & English as needed; Xuvilo flips the layout to RTL or LTR for you.
Step 3. Click "Download PDF". Your Italy invoice is generated as a print-ready A4 file in EUR, ready to email to the client or attach to your accounting system.
Italy applies 22% IVA on most invoiced goods and services, so Xuvilo defaults the tax rate to 22% IVA on the Italy invoice. You can override the rate per line, exclude exempt items, or add multiple tax components if your business requires it.
The tax authority responsible for Italy is Agenzia delle Entrate. Italy has no VAT registration threshold as such, but the regime forfettario lets individuals with revenues up to EUR 85,000 operate outside IVA with a substitute flat tax — verify eligibility with the Agenzia delle Entrate.
Italy has the EU's most established e-invoicing mandate: virtually all B2B, B2C and B2G invoices must be issued in FatturaPA XML format through the government's Sistema di Interscambio (SdI), which validates and delivers each invoice — a PDF sent by email has no fiscal validity. The obligation, in force for most businesses since 2019, was extended to flat-rate (forfettario) taxpayers, covering even the smallest operators from 2024. Cross-border transactions are reported through the same SdI channel via the esterometro-replacing XML flow.
Xuvilo isn't only an invoice generator. The same business profile powers a free quotation generator for sending price quotes before a deal is signed, a free receipt generator for confirming payments after they're made, and a 859 template library for industry-specific designs. Most Italy businesses go through quote → invoice → receipt for every project, and Xuvilo covers all three.
The ordinary IVA rate is 22%, with reduced rates of 10%, 5% and 4% for defined categories. The FatturaPA XML itemises taxable base and IVA per rate, and forfettario taxpayers instead cite their exemption and add the EUR 2 bollo on invoices over EUR 77.47.
Yes — since 2019 for most VAT-registered businesses and since 2024 even for flat-rate forfettario operators, domestic invoices must be XML files transmitted via the Sistema di Interscambio. An invoice not sent through SdI is treated as never issued for tax purposes, exposing the supplier to penalties.
Foreign suppliers are not required to use SdI; you issue your normal invoice (commonly in English, in euros) and the Italian client self-reports the transaction to SdI under the reverse charge. Including the client's partita IVA and your VAT/tax ID speeds their integration of the document.
Expect 30 to 60 days, frequently calculated end-of-month ("fine mese"), with SEPA bank transfer or Ri.Ba. — an Italian bank collection order presented at maturity — as the settlement methods. Late payment accrues EU-derived statutory interest, but relationship-based patience remains a feature of Italian commercial culture.

Yes. Switch Xuvilo between Arabic (right to left) and English (left to right) at any time; each document prints in one language: Arabic when you are using Xuvilo in Arabic or have chosen an Arabic template, English otherwise; and every field accepts text in either language.
