Australian invoices above AUD 82.50 (GST-inclusive) must be labelled "Tax Invoice" and show the supplier's ABN — clients can legally withhold 47% of a payment if no ABN is quoted. Payment is almost always by bank transfer, either traditional BSB-and-account-number deposits, near-instant Osko payments over the New Payments Platform using a PayID, or BPAY with a biller code for larger firms. Terms of 14 or 30 days are typical, with 7-day terms common among tradespeople. Amounts are shown GST-inclusive or with a clear GST line, in AUD.
Step 1. Open the Australia invoice generator. Currency and tax are pre-loaded for you. Fill in your business details and logo; signed in, the company profile you save under Settings fills them in for you.
Step 2. Add your customer and your line items. Quantity, unit price and tax update the totals automatically. Switch language between Arabic & English as needed; Xuvilo flips the layout to RTL or LTR for you.
Step 3. Click "Download PDF". Your Australia invoice is generated as a print-ready A4 file in AUD, ready to email to the client or attach to your accounting system.
Australia applies 10% GST on most invoiced goods and services, so Xuvilo defaults the tax rate to 10% GST on the Australia invoice. You can override the rate per line, exclude exempt items, or add multiple tax components if your business requires it.
The tax authority responsible for Australia is Australian Taxation Office (ATO). GST registration is mandatory once annual turnover reaches AUD 75,000 (AUD 150,000 for non-profits) — verify with the ATO.
Australia promotes Peppol e-invoicing using the PINT A-NZ specification, and all Commonwealth government agencies are required to be able to receive Peppol e-invoices. There is currently no mandate for B2B transactions — adoption is voluntary and incentivised, with the ATO acting as the national Peppol authority. Businesses should verify the latest adoption timeline with the ATO, as mandatory business adoption has been under consideration.
Xuvilo isn't only an invoice generator. The same business profile powers a free quotation generator for sending price quotes before a deal is signed, a free receipt generator for confirming payments after they're made, and a 859 template library for industry-specific designs. Most Australia businesses go through quote → invoice → receipt for every project, and Xuvilo covers all three.
GST is a flat 10% and a compliant tax invoice must state the words "Tax Invoice", the supplier's ABN, and either the GST amount or a statement that the total includes GST. Sales under AUD 82.50 including GST do not require a full tax invoice.
Not for business-to-business trade. Federal government agencies must be able to receive Peppol e-invoices, and the ATO encourages businesses to connect to the Peppol network voluntarily, citing faster payment times. Check the ATO for any changes to mandate plans.
Yes — foreign suppliers commonly invoice Australian businesses in AUD to simplify approval, though USD is accepted for international services. Note that overseas sellers of digital services to Australian consumers may themselves need to register for GST once they pass the AUD 75,000 turnover threshold.
Under the pay-as-you-go withholding rules, a business paying an invoice that lacks an Australian Business Number must withhold 47% of the payment and remit it to the ATO. Quoting your 11-digit ABN on every invoice avoids this and is standard practice even for sole traders.
